Some Blogness

Nice review of Too Much Speed single and a cool playlist below!

Too Much Speed Reviewed on The Blog That Celebrates Itself

Screen Vinyl Image or SVI return with new material, and it could not be in better style. Too Much Speed/Stay Asleep is doubly fantastic and already demonstrates what comes upfront, Jake & Kim demonstrate in highest style what happens when New Order and J&MC are ranked in the same cauldron with doses of creativity and good taste, which is also obvious in respect to the standard of quality since the times of the Alcian Blue. Too Much Speed is brought up to date and with "roupagem atualissima" of two intitled workmanships (New Order) Power Curruption and Lies and (J&MC) Automatic, but do not be deceptive in the references, the genius of Jake & Kim is what makes this a special indispensable 12". Better to exemplify the grandios of the two songs, I asked Jake to comment on the two songs:

Too Much Speed
This song is partially inspired by this great movie called Two Lane Blacktop and also came about during a really shitty period of time we were going through. You know, just a lot of bad stuff kept happening to us and we ended up watching this movie for the first time and it all sort of clicked to have a song loosely about both things.

Stay Asleep
This song is kind of a lot of different things put together. The title comes from this really cool cult movie They Live, but the lyrics are actually inspired by a number of different things we were reading and listening to at the time. The noisy ending was Kim's idea as a way to pay homage to the mighty Ciccone Youth which we had gotten back into over the summer.
